A message from Bahrain

Thank you. this is how I would sum up my emotions for your work and if I say more, my eyes will be wet. I read your blogspot, daniel-karnataka, and was thrilled by your concern for the needy.

Most importanly, to introduce, I am Agnel Pereira and my wife, Wilma Pereira is the first cousin of Fr Alwyn. We have 3 children - Dean (16), Alma (15) and Anna (5 months). Alwyn relented to our desire and we made him to stop over in Bahrain on his way to Mangalore. I have closely associated myself with the Capuchins - at Dayalbagh Ashram which you have cited in your blogspot, and also in the non-religiously started/managed Seon Psychiatric Hospital and orphanage. Therefore, your work thrilled me to no end.

I hope we get an opportunity to meet. Would love to be part of your project at Raichur for Vimukti - I have already made my first contribution to Fr Alwyn as we reached him to airport this morning on his way home. Please let me know when you will be Mangalore again, I would love to come down from Bahrain and accompany you in your travels n trip.

Merci. Voilà comment je pourrai résumer mes sentiments pour votre action et à vrai dire, j'en ai les larmes aux yeux. J'ai lu votre blog and j'ai été ému par votre attention pour les plus pauvres.

Permettez-moi, de me présenter. Je suis Agnel Pereira et mon épouse, Wilma Pereira est la cousine d'Alwyn. Nous avons trois enfants - Dean (16 ans), Alma (15 ans) et Anna (5 mois). Alwyn a répondu à notre désir en faisant une halte au Bahrain avant de se rendre à Mangalore. Je suis moi-même étroitement associé avec les Capucins - à Dayalbagh Ashram que vous citez dans votre blog mais aussi depuis le début auprès de l'Hopital Psychiatrique non confessionnel de Seon et son orphelinat. Par conséquent, votre action me transporte de joie.

J'espère que nous aurons l'occasion de nous rencontrer. Souhaiteriez-vous vous que je participe à votre projet pour Vimukti à Raichur - j'ai déjà apporté ma première contribution à Alwyn lorsque nous l'avons raccompagné à l'aéroport ce matin. Faites-moi savoir quand vous serez à Mangalore, j'aimerai venir du Bahrain et vous accompagner durant votre séjour.

VIMUKTI is a social action unit of the Capucin Franciscans of Karnataka Province.

Vimukti objectives are…

To undertake integral human development by way of education, training and creating awareness, capacity building and sensitizing people on human rights.

To build and strengthen community based organization (CBO), people’s organizations (PO) and people’s institutions (PI) and thus facilitate local leadership, participatory development and people’s control over resources.

To organize and empower the marginalized the Tribals, Dalits, Women, Children, mentally/physically challenged so as to enable them to live a life of fuller human dignity.

To evolve and undertake ventures in alternative education, so as to empower those who are deprived of the mainstream education, and thus to make education a liberative tool for the Disadvantage.

To promote and support collective social change by voluntary or collaborative efforts by networking with others and by working at policy level change in favour of the poor and the marginalized.

To document and disseminate information by promoting field based research and publish literature on social issues through the resource unit of Media and Communication of empowerment.

VIMUKTI représente la partie sociale de l'ordre des Franciscains (Capucins) de la Province du Karnataka.

Les objectifs poursuivis par Vimukti sont...

Le développement de la personne par l'éducation, la formation et la prise de conscience, la capacité à construire et à sensibiliser la population aux droits de l'homme.

Construire et organiser une vie communautaire, celle des gens et celle des institutions en rapprochant les responsables locaux et les personnes ressources dans un développement participatif.

Organiser et redonner leur vrai place aux Tribus, aux Dalits, aux femmes, aux enfants, aux handicapés physiques et mentaux

en leur donnant la possibilité d'avoir une vie plus humaine et plus digne.

Développer et entreprendre des actions éducatives nouvelles en venant en aide à ceux qui n'ont pas eu la chance de recevoir une éducation normale et en faisant de l'éducation un outil de libération pour les plus défavorisés.

Promouvoir et apporter un soutien au changement social collectif par un travail de collaboration volontaire en suscitant l'entraide mutuelle et le changement de politique en direction des pauvres et des marginaux.

Mettre à disposition et diffuser l'information par la documentation et la publication des questions sociales grâce au centre de ressources et de communication.
